Wake beat Gonzaga and Xavier.

ACC would have won the challenge again if not for Clemson choking away a 20-pt. second half lead vs. Illinois. Doesn't matter now, of course, but the conference was very close to winning it again.

The ACC does need to do a better job in the postseason. UNC's run last season notwithstanding, higher-seeded teams WF (Cleveland St.), FSU (Wisconsin), Clemson (Michigan), and BC (Southern Cal) took it on the chin in the first round last year. Carolina's year overshadowed it a bit, but 2009 was not a good year for the conference as a whole.

Also, because I am feeling combative :-) N.C. State lost on a half-court buzzer beater to Florida, or the ACC would have another good RPI win this year. But, of course, a loss is a loss. They did beat Marquette, however.

Wake beat Richmond (RPI No. 39) as well. The Spiders have wins over Mizzou, Miss. State, and Florida.

Seems like the conference has held its own during the regular season, but does need a good cumulative showing in the Dance this year.

Hell, lest we forget, UNC beat Ohio State and Michigan State prior to ACC play, with a 2-point loss at Kentucky mixed in.

I have not forgotten what Carolina did as well as the ACC (which, we should of never lost the Big 10 challenge, Sorry DB) but that still doesn't mean that we are down by our standards IMHO. Just ask the SEC or the Big 10 about their standards in football.

But, I do like where you are coming from :)

It should have never come to that lucky buzzer beater. NCST lost because they failed  at the free throw line at the end ( sounds like a team we know when it concerns winning or losing at the free throws ) The ACC, is too up and down in our winning/losing. And, that shows up in the NCAA tournament time IMO
