See this is what bothers me. I like Coach Joseph and follow the Lady Jackets, but they had to squeak out an OT win at home over a team that was 2-3 in conference coming in. If the Mens team did that then Coach Hewitt would be getting roasted.

Also, the praise for the womens team is a bit much and seems like just a slam at Coach Hewitt.

In Coach Joseph's 6 years as coach of GT coming into this season she was 106-76.

Coach Hewitt is those same 6 seasons is 105-85.

Coach Joseph has 3 20 win seasons, and Coach Hewitt also has 3 20 win seasons.

Coach Joseph in her 6 years has been to 3 NCAA Tournaments. Coach Hewitt in the past 6 years has also been to 3 NCAA Tournaments.

The ACC for Womens Basketball on average the past 6 seasons has averaged to be the 5th best conference in Womens College Basketball.
The ACC for Mens Basketball has averaged to be the 3rd best conference over that same 6 year span.

That says it's easier to win for the Women than the Men.

Also, the Womens team Strength of Schedule the past 6 years has been an average of 71. The Mens Strength of Schedule over the same 6 year span has been 22.

That tells me that the Men with 105 wins over the past 6 years with a 22 Strength of Schedule is more impressive than the Women with 106 wins and an average Strength of Schedule of 71.

I did a lot of research for these stats. I am not coming back to defend this, the stats speak for themselves.

The Mens team already has 4 wins against teams inside the Top 50 of the RPI. The Women have only 1 win against an RPI Top 50 team.

All I am saying, is Coach Hewitt is doing a pretty good job and cut him some slack. You want to rip him because you feel he isn't doing a good job, but all these numbers don't lie.

He is a fine representative for Georgia Tech and is really doing a good job when you look at the big picture. And if you want to take jabs at Coach Hewitt, then take jabs at Coach Joseph because if you look at the numbers, then Coach Hewitt is doing just as good a job, if not better then Coach Joseph if you are truly being honest.

If coach joseph had the talent that blewitt has every year....you could more than likely add a national championship to her list....
For the record....blewitt beat a weak ass UNC team this year....so that's nothing to brag about....and he should have an overall record better than that.....the acc is not all that good when you look at the league top to bottom every year.....this is not the 70's or 80's........the acc has lived off its past to much......duke and unc have made the acc look bad in its on right.....much less what some big 10 schools done to them this year....
So brag on blewitt all you want......he has not showed me anything over the last 4 years or so......except how much better he would be in a rec league somewhere.....
With GT' s talent.......coach k would be winning about 95 % of its game every year.....blewitt is about the 7 best coach in the acc....and that might be stetchin it a bit....

So you know Coach Joseph has landed quite a bit of Top 100 nationally ranked players.

In the 2004 class, Coach Joseph's first class, she brought in 3 Top 25 nationally ranked players. Janie Mitchell was ranked #21 nationally, Jillian Ingram who was ranked #24 nationally, and Daphne Mitchell who was ranked #25 nationally.

In 2005, GT inked April Phillips ranked #35 nationally, and Jacqua Williams who was ranked #76 nationally.

In 2006, Brigitte Ardossi was highly thought of out of Austrailia and was recruiting by UConn. Tiffany Blackmon was the #30 ranked player nationally. Jasmine Duffey was ranked #34 nationally, and Angel Buie was ranked #62 nationally,

In the 2007 rankings GT and Coach Joseph landed 2 nationally ranked top 20 player. #15 nationally Alex Montgomery and #20 nationally Iasia Hemingway. Also, Deja Foster was also signed and she was ranked #52 in the country.

In 2008, Mo Bennett was ranked #29 in the nation and Chelsea Regins was ranked #58 nationally, while LaQuananisha Adams was ranked #62 in the nation, and Metra Walthour was nationally ranked by 2 nationally ranked services.

This past recruiting class Coach Joseph got Sharena Taylor who was ranked #35 nationally, Jasmine Blain who was ranked #60 nationally, plus Danielle Hamilton-Carter was a starter for the U-18 Swedish team in the European Championships.

All this shows is that Coach Joseph HAS been getting recruits just as good as Coach Hewitt. Over the past 6 years the Womens team has averaged the 4th best recruiting class in the ACC. The Mens team has averaged the 5th best recruting class over the same 6 year span.

That says that the Womens team is getting better recruits then the Men. So why is Coach Joseph getting a pass when Coach Hewitt gets killed? Her recruits are ranked better, yet most haven't panned out. Another strike on Coach Joseph.

Say all you want about how bad you think Coach Hewitt is, but his recruits on the 6 year average do not rank as high as Coach Joseph's, yet Coach Hewitt only has 1 less loss, and all of his players stay at GT, while a good portion of Coach Joseph's have transfered out.

Maybe that says she isn't recruiting the proper type of kids to GT that Coach Hewitt is.

I like Coach Joseph, but all the evidence I am showing proved that Coach Hewitt is doing just as good as Coach Joseph if not better. Plus, she gets just as good recruits, puts up similiar results, yet gets praised, and Coach Hewitt gets dumped on. Not fair!!

I'm not going to do the women-men's comparison. I look at them independently of each other.

So CPH gets top half of the conference talent every year. I think we can all agree on that. Yet, look at his overall ACC record and especially the road ACC record. They are pathetic for the level of talent he has had in culmination.

Funny that you say that. I have more stats to back up that Coach Hewitt is doing a better job then Coach Joseph.

Coach Joseph on average over the past 6 years has averaged the 4th best recruiting class in the ACC. Over those same 6 years, Coach Hewitt has averaged the 5th best recruiting class in the ACC. A point I mentioned earlier that you must have overlooked. So Coach Joseph gets more top half talent then Coach Hewitt does.

In ACC league play over the 6 year span Coach Joseph with better "top level talent" in terms of better recruiting has compiled a record of 36-52 for a winning percentage of .409. Not so hot to be honest when you are coached what equalling the 4th best recruiting class in the ACC on average.

Coach Hewitt on the other hand in the same 6 year span with the 5th best recruiting class on average in the ACC has an ACC league record of 38-58 for a winning percentage of .396.

Now I am being honest, neither are great, but with the recruiting classes that Coach Joseph brings in, to only have a winning percentage in the ACC on .409 is pretty bad, yet she gets off saying how great she is doing when she beats a crummy Miami team, yet with Coach Hewitt, he gets derogatory nicknames for having a very comperable winning percentage over the past 6 years and he also has a National Championship appearance with recruiting classes that do not rank as highly as the Women.

Please, if you look at it objectively and fair, and want to call Coach Hewitt derogatory names, then call Coach Joseph derogatory names, because she has done just about the same with better talent in a weaker league then Coach Hewitt has.

NYC, try some reading comprehension. Quit talking about the women's program. Look at the men's, on it's own accord. Tell me what Hewitt's ACC road record, overall ACC record, and NCAAT record are.
