A guy making his 3rd start of the year shuts Tech out on 4 hits. It looks like another Danny Hall tournament tank job. I know it's not over yet and UGA will have to use a 5th starting pitcher but it didn't matter much today that UGA was playing it's second game of the day.. It's the same Danny Hall MO. When big in March but don't win when it really matters in May and June.

Yes, it was ugly tonight for the Jackets. DH will bring us back tomorrow ready to play. He better because I don't want to have to think about ugag eliminating us from the Tournament.

UGAGsucks, hope you're right cause I just don't think Tech can win Monday. Ugay just has Tech's number in crucial games whether it's football, basketball or baseball. Our players get very tentative and tighten up when they play Ugay. It's a damn shame!! Right now uga has all the MO and they know it.:?

You hit the nail on the head.  It doesn't matter what sport, when we play them in a big game, they just can't take oppurtunities that come before them.  Its almost like they're afraid to win.

Face it guys, when any GT team sees a little red on a UGA uni they lose their confidence.  Doesn't matter what the sport, they play UGA with the trembles.  I hope they wake up today but I don't see it happening. Get ready to listen to the stupid "woof woof" for the next few days.

I think some of you guys are speaking a little premature.  Yes if we lose to UGA today I will be upset just like you guys, but lets face it UGA was a natinal seed and a very good baseball team, and we got a screwed having to face them.  I still think we have a good shot at winning tonight.  I think this team has overachieved this year.  I think the recruiting has been weak the last 2 years but if we make it to the super region I think nobody should be complaining about Hall.  That would be final 16 team 2 out of the last 3 years, and final 8 one of those years.  Yes last year was very dissapointing but you have to look at the toatl body of work.  I think this game really defines the assessment of what Hall has done IMO, and I am willing to wait untill then to see what he does. What other mens sport are we competing like this?

What was the record of CDH this year against the ACC upper echelon, grant it he did beat UGAG 2 out of 3 which helps but we lost a great coach when we lost Jim Morris.

Oh you mean the top 3 teams in the nation?  What was anybody record against them?  We did not fair to well against the 3 best teams in the nation but after that we more than held our own in the top 15 and top 25.  Coastal Car, UGA, and NCST were all top 15 teams in the RPI and we went 5-3, Virg was a top 25 team and we went 2-1, which puts to 7-4 against 3-25 teams.  Not bad at all.  Miami is unreal this year, and I will be shocked if they don't win it, UNC is the next best team, and FSU is top 5 at the very least

Wow,

This thread is pathetic. You guys have jumped over the cliff BEFORE THE REGIONAL IS EVEN OVER! And, as TH said, the ACC upper echelon was THE TOP THREE TEAMS IN THE COUNTRY!

If you guys are jumping all over Danny Hall, who consistently has teams making moves in his sports' playoffs, what the hell are you thinking about Gailey and Hewitt (who consistently perform well below this)!

Tonight is the huge game and no, yesterday was not the death knell. Montgomery owned us at Turner Field and clearly has Tech figured out. If tonight's pitcher does the same, then I'll have more problem with what's transpired.

But, they have to throw a rare starter tonight who has not owned us. We better score big runs in this one. Our pitching is another story. Look for a closer, offensive game like the ACC tourny.

You guys remind me of the movie Aliens when the soldier freaks out after an alien butt-kicking and he's ranting, "Game over, man, game over!" and they have to slap him to his senses.

Yeah, I definitely don't agree with the people who are questioning Danny Hall.  He has taken this team to the CWS many times, and is a great manager.  Just because he had trouble against the 3 of the best teams in the country doesn't mean he needs to be fired.

I was only stating the fact that the athletes at GT seem to be intimidated by UGA and have a mental disadvantage every single time they play especially when the game means a lot.

I think only one poster was critical of Hall. Overall he has done a very good job for the past 14 years. My one point is- when the chips are down, and Tech is facing Ugay, they tend to over react and lose control of their game. They have a difficult time managing their emotions make mistakes and never give themselves a chance to play like they know they can. I hope the hell they will prove me wrong. I would like nothing else better than to put Ugay out, on their on field, in front of their barking, f-ing fans. I will be plug into WREK. Go Jackets!!

Understood, gentlemen, and I feel your despair about recent competition with UGA, but I guess I'm saying stay upbeat with the big one still tonight. We can gnash teeth when our team's finally eliminated.

Tech Head, any rebuttal on how this last game turned out? Every Tech fan should be utterly embarrassed as to the way this Tech team was handled by our rival. No heart, no will in Danny Hall or his baseball team!

No heart, no will in Danny Hall or his baseball team!rebuttal?  Not sure what you mean as I already covered what a loss would mean before the game.  It was a terrible loss, and I am embarrassed.  The worst part of it is we were not even competitive with UGA the last two games.  Very dissapointing to say the least.  Yellow I already before the game stated I think that last game was a defining game for Hall's performance over the past 3 years.  IMO Tech baseball should be top 20 somewhere between 10-15.  We have that kind of talent in GA, and baseball recruits are just smarter than the other sports IMO.  So the last 3 years, one year top 8, one year btw 40-50, and another year 17-32.  Overall IMO that is under what we should be doing at Tech.  If we would have won it would be up to par IMO.   I think what my point before the game was that we were not out and we still had a chance to be succesful this year.
