So IMO the ACC got a raw deal from the NCAA while the SEC got to much respect this year.  SEC got 9 teams in the tourney, while the ACC got 6.  ACC was #1 conference in the RPI while the SEC was either 4th or 3rd.  Tech was the only team in the top 10 RPI to not host and one of two team in the RPI top 15 not to host.  Virg a very good team and high in the RPI got sent way out west, and played a tough UCLA team off their feet, I would be pissed if I was Virg.

Day one is pretty much over and here is how it looks

SEC (3-5) Kentucky game was suspended not sure if they will start that game where it left off or they will start over, but Kent. down 5-1

W    BAMA

Delayed Kentucky but losing

L Vandi

L Ark.

L UGA

W USC

W LSU

L Old Miss

L FL.

ACC (4-2)

W   GT

W Miami

W NCST

W UNC

L Virg

L FSU

TH, you're correct - the SEC got way too much respect in the Tourney. Their fans think they are all that when they really are not. I love it!

It would be nice to see ugag lose today and be out in 2 games. I definitely think Louisville has the talent to beat them - they have some guys who can play.

It's the first day, but the results so far prove your point. And, we all know it's extremely difficult to win a regional when you lose your first game. More than likely, the SEC should have 2 or 3 advance and the ACC 3 or 4.

The big conference matchup is USC/NC State, that will say a lot -- unfortunately, I don't feel good about that one. Win that game and we "should" have 4 teams at 2-0 and basically in their regional driver's seat. Win that game and the SEC should only have 1 or 2 teams in their regional driver's seat.

Can you believe a Florida/FSU elimination game on the 2nd day? That's insane!

Our biggest conference dawg so far is obviously the Noles -- I absolutely can't believe they got their butts kicked by Bucknell!

SJ, very true it is jus the first day and we have a long ways to go.  I think the FL vs FSU will be a huge game because I think the winner can come back and win that region.

BTW Kentucky just lost to Mich putting the SEC to 3-6!

Sure, FSU or Florida could still win that regional, but the team they have to beat (Tulane) will be a challenge to beat twice in a row. I don't think Florida is good enough this year to win three straight huge games.

Whereas, I really think the winner of USC/State tonight wins that regional.

Well its the second day and the results prove even more my theory.

First Round

SEC 3-6       ACC 4-2

Second Round

SEC 5-4        ACC 6-0

Overall

SEC 8-10      ACC 10-2

Any further questions about my theory? :P jk

However, the SEC still have more teams in the tourney, but the ACC have more teams in the winners bracket.

If I was a betting man I would say it is going to turn our like this.

Sweet 16

SEC-LSU and either UGA or USC Total 2

ACC-UNC, Miami and 2 of 3 between Tech, FSU, and NCST Total 4

CWS

SEC-LSU

ACC-Miami, UNC and one other total 3

Nice work, TH. Also, how about ACC 2 - SEC 0 head-to-head. Those were impressive wins for FSU and NC State. It will be real tough for the SEC to do more than your prediction, at this point. I completely agree on the teams going forward each round -- outside of UGA, USC and LSU, it would take an unexpected run for another team to move on (all teams on the road).

SEC had a much better day and went 6-5 on the day.  ACC did pretty good itself besides Tech (Virg cards were stack against them) 5-2.  FSU won twice, NC, Miami, NCST clinched.

Total Score

ACC               SEC

15-4               14-15

Teams left ACC 5    SEC 2

Clinched and in Sweet 16

ACC 3 (NC, Miami, NCST)   SEC 1 (LSU)

Teams in reginal finals

ACC 2 (FSU, GT)               SEC 1 (UGA)

TH,

That was a better day for the SEC only in that they won a few elimination games vs. solid opponents. However, that's pretty pitiful for their conference to have only 2 of 9 teams left at this point.

At least we're past this Montgomery guy who seems to own us. Our bats better wake up vs. the rest of their pitching staff because I somehow doubt we'll hold them to less than 6 or 8 runs.

ACC went 3-1 today, but the SEC had a great day going 2-0 with LSU having a great come from behind victory.

ACC 23-9      SEC 18-17

4 of the 9 losses of the ACC is from one team, which it could not be a worse team UGA!  I am getting a little scared that UGA could win this hold thing.  They are red hot:train
