But he is from Marietta and was head coach of Middle Tennessee State from 1999 to 2005. He recruited Georgia heavily. For the past few years he has been at NC State and has recruited all over the state. Most guys were 3 star guys. But I am sure it is quite a sell to get a big time recruit from Georgia to go play for NC State when they have offers from GT, UGA, Auburn, FSU, Clemson, etc. Don't know how good he will be, but he seems to know the state well.

Beelogic, I would be carful about reporting stuff from a paid site. After all if you just come and tell everybody it will kind of keep people from buying their subscription. If I was Kelly I would be pissed. Why would anybody pay for something you find out 1 hour before others?

It even gives you a little synopsis. If Rivals or Scout didn't want people to know who they hired, they should just put "GT hires another coach...click here to find out who." If they put his name and picture on the page and anyone can see it, it's free game. It's no different from the AJC at that point.

McCollum has been the guy for a while. He'll be the recruiting coordinator and coach the linebackers. Word was he was going to be announced on Signing Day but NC State came back with a counteroffer. What it came down to in the end is that McCollum could stay at NC State with a mediocre program or come to Tech and compete for championships. He has aspirations of at some point of furthering his career and the chances of that happening increase exponentially at a winner than they do at a loser. Plus, talking to folks around the league who follow it closely, if O'Brien doesn't get something going he could be out after this year. IMO McCollum is an excellent hire.

I have heard Kelly is working with some lawyers to remedy the situation, and don't think it is that ethical to report it anyways. However, it sounds like this situation was not paid members only. The other thing is that there has been so many leaks that some of the information on the paid sites has been withheld from its members because of people being unethical and spreading it to other boards. I really don't care that much it was a suggestion and take it for what it is worth. DCS WHy do you care so much? Seems you are very curious

That's what you pay for when you're an insider: you get information about an hour before everyone else. No biggie, it's always been like this. I've never heard an insider complain about it. Insiders are happy that they found out an hour before the rest, right? That's what they paid for.

I was a member at Scout a while back. But I get just as much good info from this site because this site has it's own people in the know as well as far as GT athletics.
