All 4 of our out of conference opponents are set through 2015 except for 2012, where we have Middle TN St, SW Missouri, & UGAY--who is the 4th team in 2012?

that's what I am hoping too. Give us LSU or Tennessee or Ole Miss.

Are those teams known to have an openning in 2012?

no. Just came to mind of quality teams that would draw a crowd against us.

Per 09 media guide its SW Louisiana.  SW Missouri is not mentioned?  Would love for this NOT to be the case where we play SW Louisiana, SW Missouri and MTSU all in the same year, talk about CRAP....

Page 3 of the Media Guide, page 5 of the pdf if you download.....

Wow!  Can't believe Chicken bowl folks picked NCST over us???!!! I understand the out of town hotel thing but NCST?? Really?  Especially when we have an open slot!

Opening with UT would have been awesome!!!

You know.....since so many on here want to play the conference game thing: these matchups are terrible for the ACC teams involved.

Yea but NCST is a middle tier team and so is UT right now.  Based on todays results if we played an SEC opponent as the leagues best team and defending champion we should be pair with Alabama...........NOT!  GT- UT would be a good match-up.  GT-Bammer of last year or this year would probably be a slaughter. UT will probably kill NCST in 2012.

My bad, its not SW MO, your right it is SW LA
I don't think we have an easy schedule each or any year as we always play;
Miami, NC, VA Tech, GA, Clemson, & one other quality out of conference team--this equates to six top 25 teams every year
Look at who Bama, UF & Penn State schedule out of conference

GT is getting what it deserves, the Ga. Dome has been around for seemingly 20+ years and GT has not played ONE FRIGGIN' HOME GAME at the Ga. Dome, and now GT wants to be a part of the CFA Season Kickoff Game and play at the Ga. Dome.

Hell, GT could have had its own Season Kickoff Game at the Ga. Dome, all GT had to do was make sure they play Top-Notch Teams every other year and simply play the Game at the Dome and then sit back and wait for  ESPN and the TV networks to come running, GT could have used to its proximity to the Ga. Dome and Labor Day weekend to establish a new tradition and become the "Unofficial-Offical Kickoff of the CFB Season", then the entire country would have looked to Atlanta & GT at the start of every CFB season.

Instead, GT sat back and REFUSED to take advantage of a Great facility 1.5 miles from BDS@HGF, and now thanks to such REACTIONARY MARKETING, GT FB has been relegated to Second-Fiddle in its OWN CITY each Labor Day-Weekend by the Atl. Sports Council.

If the GTAA had done its JOB and protected its "market" and its Brand, then Labor Day weekend at the Ga. Dome would have belonged to GT and NOT to the Atl. Sports Council.

Wrecks, that post is so ridiculous I don't know where to start. I noticed you hadn't chimed in Lately to take us all down the same old tired path. I was hoping you had died.

I was hoping you had died. The fact that you'd write something like that just shows the entire world what kind of weasely, chicken-sh*t, message board wuss you are.

Everything I wrote is absolutely TRUE, if GT marketed its Product better and "locked the city down", then the Atl. sports Council would not be able to have that Kickoff Classic with any level of success, GT could have just as easily opened its season 15 or TWENTY FRIGGIN' years ago in the Dome on Labor Day weekend and then made that a "new" GT tradition and then GT wouldn't HAVE TO play 2nd fiddle in its OWN FRIGGIN' CITY each Labor Day weekend.

You just showed the entire world what kind of nerdy-ass idiot you are, my post CANNOT BE ridiculous, since the Atl. Sports Council is proving that that scenario WORKS VERY WELL to open the CFB season, if my post was that ridiculous, then that other poster would not be upset that NC State got chosen over GT by the Atl. Sports Council.

The GTAA, and their unknowledgeable, idiot Fanbase, never imagined that someone would ever invite 2 BCS CFB Teams to come into Atl. to play at the Ga. Dome to open the season.

Had GT opened their season with a ND, Tenn, Auburn, USCe, Klimpson each yr. and played the Game at the Ga. Dome as a GT Home Game, then the Atl. Sports Council would come off as looking DESPERATE & REACTIONARY, instead, the school with the "so-called Elite Academics" and scads of Alums with Great Jobs & Great Incomes that are the "Captains of Industry", instead they come off looking DESPERATE & REACTIONARY instead of the Atl. Sports Council.

The Atl. Sports Council looks well-organized, efficient, progressive & well-run, with a keen eye on the future of CFB and what will be the "next big thing" that will garner National Media Attention while GT comes across looking like a bush-league outfit that is typical of a crappy ACC that is poorly run & poorly marketed from ACC Commish's Office on down to their member Institutions.

For the foreseeable future GT FB will be SECOND FIDDLE in its own city each Labor Day Weekend or whenever the CFB Season starts, and GT has no one else to blame but GT, and you making snide, icehole-caliber comments WON'T CHANGE THAT IRREFUTABLE FACT.

Long Live Ol' Wrecks!

It would be an expense that I am sure GT would love to make every year...

I took a class in hospitality and we went to the Dome for a tour/presentation...

It is very expensive to have a gig there.

Well, how about the program that DOES have this state locked down? When has UGA been invited to a game at the Georgia Dome? I'm asking because I really don't know. Can anyone verify?

Sometimes, money can't get you everything. You gotta have influence with the right people.

Also, have you seen our marketing department? I believe a grand total of 4 people work there.

An obvious choice for our 4th OOC game would be Auburn who hasn't locked in any of their 4 games and who comes onto our schedule in 2017/2018 anyway. It would resurrect an old rivalry. To make it a home and away we could also go to Auburn in 2016.

Different circumstances, UGAy doesn't play second fiddle to anyone in their Home state, or at least that's the PERCEPTION of folks in this State, the Ga. Dome isn't 1.5 miles from Sanford Stadium and ESPN Gameday hasn't come to Athens for 2 straight years for OTHER CFB TEAMS.

It all has to do with perception, they Draw 96K every week and are perceived much differently than GT is, understanding that perception in the marketplace is what diffrentiates good marketing people from less-than-good marketing people.
