Wow, that's actually very helpful for us! We get Clempson on a saturday, then a whole 10 days until we play VT on Thursday, then another 10 days before Miami.

Yeah, the home schedule definitely sucks, but I like how the overall schedule lays out. Our tough games are well spaced. Clem, Vt, Miami is the worst stretch, but because the VT game is a thursday night, we get a long week for that one and the Miami game.

Ya, the space b4 and after the VT game helps with that. Overall, this schedule lays out nicely for us. Can't complain.

Yep, no reason to believe we shouldn't come into Oct. 23rd with a 7-0 mark. But I know:

Don't count your chickens!!!

Ok, I've done some research. Notable thoughts/findings:

1) UNC gets a bye week before us - 14 days to prepare. Unlucky, but oh well.

2) Miami/VT/UGA are probably our 3 toughest games. Getting them late in the year is good since our defense will get time to learn the 3-4.

3) VT has a bye week before us too. So both teams will have 11 days of rest going into a Thursday night game in Lane. Can you say "big game?"

4) UGA has the week off before us. Again, unlucky, but the team coming off the bye-week has lost the last two games in the series...

5) Overall nice layout, Defintely backloaded, but we got some rest between those games (kind of like Miami in 2009). Clemson/VT/Miami/UGA in the last 5 games sounds brutal at first. But we get 11 days between CU/VT. Then 9 days before Miami. Then Duke before UGA. I think it was very important to be bacloaded this year with the new defensive scheme. Not the perfect schedule, but I would give it an 8-out-of-10 in terms of giving us the best oppurtunity to win each game.

Would have been Ole Miss.  Or MTSU would have been Ole Miss- not sure which one.  But not really our fault.  At least MTSU was a 10 win team and won their bowl game over a decent Southern Miss team.

The biggest thing I see not to like is that the Thurs. game with VT takes away a true off week. I like where the bye week is on the schedule, but it's not truly going to be a bye. My second nitpick: why do we keep having Duke the game before UGA? We usually seem to play down to our competition's level, and the week before the UGA game is not a good time to do that. I'm not saying I want a big game the week before UGA, but a middle-of-the-pack team would be better.

But its all about the preseason ranking, which for once we will have in our favor

I like the schedule.....and our chances at a repeat.
I also like the spacing of the games at the end of the schedule.

Weak as in easy? or weak as in bad home games?  Our road game schedule this year is brutal:

at Virginia Tech
at North Carolina
at Georgia
at Clemson
at Wake Forest
at Kansas

UGA schedule is weaker than ours this year.  Auburn and Tennessee is still down.  Florida lost a ton of starters, their DC, their new DC, Tebow, and a head coach taking time off.  Arkansas and South Carolina are probably two of their hardest games.

Sorted by a rough estimate of hardest game to easiest game:

Florida
Georgia Tech
Arkansas
at South Carolina
at Auburn
Tennessee
at Mississippi State
at Kentucky
Colorado
Vanderbilt
Idaho State

at Virginia Tech
Miami
at North Carolina
at Georgia
at Clemson
at Wake Forest
at Kansas
NC State
Duke
Virginia
Middle Tennessee
SC State

Sept. 4 SC STATE

Win

Sept. 11 at Kansas

Win

Sept. 18 at North Carolina

45/55 Loss

Sept. 25 NC STATE

80/20 Win

Oct. 2 at Wake Forest

Win

Oct. 9 VIRGINIA

Win

Oct. 16 MIDDLE TENNESSEE

Win

Oct. 23 at Clemson

80/20 Win

Nov. 4 at Virginia Tech, ESPN*

45/55 Loss

Nov. 13 MIAMI

55/45 Win

Nov. 20 DUKE

80/20 Win

Nov. 27 at Georgia

50/50

So I'm thinking we'll be around 8 wins and 4 tossups. If we go less than 9-3 season pre-bowl I'll be a little disappointed. VT, UNC, and uga getting bye weeks before playing us worries me a little.

I love this schedule:

- A tune up game prior to Kansas
- MTSU prior to Clemson
- BYE prior to VT
- Duke prior to uga

Then throw in the fact that 4 of our 6 toughest oppenents come in the back half of the season which allows our defense to learn the new scheme and our offense to really get clicking. This schedule is awesome

The timing of this schedule almost makes me forget how horrible the home slate is going to be. :)

Weak as in not sexy at all. We can aruge about Auburn, TN, UF, etc...being "down" but all I see on our schedule is a questionable at best Celmson, Miami and VT, which are down too. UNC is decent but a nobody. Every year is "their year to rise" but they fall flat every year, I mean they are UNC.

Its an exciting schedule for winning games since there aren't any powerhouses, just not a sexy one.

What my man Helluva is trying to say is that if our football schedule was a bikini, it'd be one of these.

Just for the record, I'm not completely sure if 2 of the 4 are wearing "bottoms"
