It was all everyone talked about "black out", "gonna be a black out", "we are gonna black out Alabama", etc. Now we go and "one up" with a white out. It is just a little goofy. I think the fans and the players would be more energized with a throwback uniform like the Black Watch uniforms for the defense or even the blue jerseys (although I do hope to see the white throwbacks tomorrow night). I can't imagine what I will have to buy and then give to the salvation army (a white sweatshirt is just red).
UGA hardly invented the (insert color here)-out game.  As mentioned earlier, Penn State has been doing it for years...Clemson did it against us this year.  I don't really think it's a great idea just because half of the fans don't even wear gold to the games normally...why would anyone think they'd actually wear white when asked to????  The responses on here just further my belief that a host of Tech fans just simply won't wear white because it's an inconvienence to them...just like wearing gold is...just like showing up to the games...etc etc etc  Just man up and wear white.  It really is that simple.  Everyone is going to be layered up anyways, just make your top layer white!

First off, "man up and wear white" sounds like a quote from the Bird Cage.  Second, when was the last time we did a white out?  Never.  I seriously doubt this was a PSU influenced decision.  Even if it was, it sure seems awkward to occur after the black out (the overhyped jackoff session), providing all of the cannon fodder that the AJC/UGA journalists need.  Overall, this was done incorrectly.  While a bunch of people have gold colored clothes, nobody has white winter clothes.  Bad choice of colors and poor timing after UGA's overdone blackout.

I think it is crazy to call to question team spirit, fan support etc, if one doesn't wear white.  How long after 9/11 did you wear your american flag tie, yet I can only assume you still love our country.

BTW, our 20 year season tickets seats are always filled as it will be tonight with my light grey ski shell.

This argument about needing white winter clothes is such crap. Just find a white t-shirt and pull it on over your coat. really not that hard to do.

I hope we win....but if we are getting blown out I am going to get kicked out for kicking people in the balls that don't have white on.:dude:

If not for my love of this team and wanting to watch the game........I would do it as people walked in.

Ha...from the AJC:

“I was telling one of my friends that if we wanted to do something original, we should have a geekout and have a football game at the library,” Pritchett said, “because that’s where everyone is, anyway. It’d be a guaranteed sellout.”

This is my whole point.  Those not wearing white are doing so because they simply don't want to.  The part that needs to be white is the outer layer...

Might be an issue if an old lady comes in wearing gold.  I am wearing a cup just in case I am not in enough white.
